TWEAKING

One of the beauties of the SINKER-DROPPER is that it can be TWEAKED and tweaked again! You can fiddle with it and adjust it until you believe it is perfect. If your buddy uses it to pry open a beer can top, you can fix it! The steel we use is strong, yet still malleable.

We have tried to ruin several of ours, but after some tweaking, they bounce back. A multi-tool is a wonderful thing!

  • We bent one into a crescent, and then added a sideways twist. In five minutes, it was usable again!

  • We then ran over one with my pickup truck (several times), but all it did was make the strike tension a bit tighter. We were trying to see if we could freeze the sliding wire. Since the truck test didn't work, we took a hammer and smashed it flat! The wire was immovable, yet with my trusty multi-tool, I managed to get it into workable condition in 7-8 minutes (be careful if you try this!)

  • I left one out during the rainy season for two months in a steel pan. The pan rusted, but the SINKER-DROPPER didn't! During that same time, I immersed one in brine, let it evaporate, then left it in the salt residue. Again, no corrosion!

  • We rubbed one in fine sand, and after separating the wire and sleeve, gave it a quick rinse and the SINKER-DROPPER worked like new!

TRY THESE MANEUVERS WITH ANY OTHER SINKER RELEASE! You can't tweak them, they rust or oxidize, they gunk up and can't be cleaned, and we doubt if they'll work if you run over them with a truck or hit one with a hammer!

The SINKER-DROPPER, "The Poor Man's Downrigger™," should be part of your tackle!
